How to measure AC Voltage using Multimeter

Voltage is potential drop between two points, a simple “Multimeter” can measure up to 750V AC, but it is really not safe to use Multimeter at 750V. But under safety limits we can use Multimeter up to 230V AC.

    • Rotate your Multimeter’s pointer and make it point toward V~ sign, connect two Multimeter wires to two connections in which you want to see voltage ,you can choose any value like 200 or 750V.
    • Suppose you choose 200V then the Multimeter can give you all values from 0 – 200V AC, if you have value more than 200V the Multimeter may damage, So choose that value which is maximum in your circuit.
    • At 750V AC the Multimeter is not using any fuse safety, so try not use at such Hugh voltage level.
